Minimally invasive/Laparoscopic Surgery is a surgical technique which involves small incisions (Keyhole). The entire procedure is completed with the use of 3-4 ports (holes) with help of a camera to visualise the internal organs. The procedure is similar to open surgery except for small incisions. This minimal access surgery helps in early recovery of patients as they are usually walking around in a few hours after the surgery and can resume their daily activities in no time. Laparoscopic surgery causes minimal pain, quicker recovery time, smaller incisions, less discomfort, shorter hospital stay and has excellent cosmetic results when compared to traditional open surgery.
